Yep the fat guy on the left is me. I was about 21 years old in that picture. Now it wasn’t easy getting to that weight the lines at the late night fast food drive-thru can be brutally long. The hangovers from hours of drinking also not easy. The cake, candy, soda and ice cream, well truth be told consuming those items was pretty easy.
As you can see I am making light of a serious situation. I was severely overweight and well on my way to diabetes, high cholesterol and a host of other issues that would have surely shortened my life span, not to mention the quality in which I lived it. Luckily for me I seen a picture of myself one day and couldn’t believe what I looked like. Funny how 80 lbs. of fat can sneak up on you.
So… after years of yo-yo diets and killing myself on the elliptical machine surprise, surprise I still was fat. Not quite as fat but still fat. What was I doing wrong? I starved myself and ate lettuce like a rabbit, I did endless cardio like someone was chasing me. I should be skinny! Luckily for me I realized if I’m doing these things and its not working its time to rethink things. So I did. I balanced my diet instead of starving myself I ate clean foods and allowed myself the occasional cheat meal. Instead of crazy amounts of cardio I focused on weight training and shorter interval sessions of cardio and the results speak for themselves.
